Milton H. Greene was an American fashion photographer who initially established himself in the world of high fashion in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

 

 

His work appeared in Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Time, Life, Marie Claire and Look. His celebrity photos included notable actors such as Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Loren, Doris Day, Cary Grant, and scores of other Hollywood personalities. 

 

Greene achieved additional fame through the more than 50 covers he shot for Life magazine; more than any other photographer of his time. 

 

He had the gift of gaining the intimacy of his subjects and revealing their true nature through the lens of his camera. he was truly one of America's most celebrated photographers.
